The Tri-M Music Honor Society has a long history as a cornerstone of our school’s music department. I joined Tri-M as a sophomore, drawn to its impact in our community inside and outside of school, and by senior year I am now part of the 2025-2026 Tri-M officers as a historian.
As an officer, I document our chapter’s activities, highlight member achievements, and design posters and social media content to promote upcoming events.
Beyond music rooms and rehearsals, Tri-M’s mission extends into the community. We’ve organized fundraisers for local musicians and organizations, including the Chords for Cause Foundation, and recently donated twelve boxes of food to a local food pantry.
Each project reminds us that music is both about performing and a way of bringing people together to create visible change in our community. Our monthly meetings are filled with ideas on how to share music both inside and outside school—from mentoring younger students to organizing concerts.
Tri-M has improved my leadership skills, but most importantly, it has strengthened my belief that music has the power to connect us and help us serve each other.
