Midwest Young Artist Conservatory (MYAC) Choir
After attending a summer musical workshop at the Midwest Young Artist Conservatory (MYAC) in 2024, the director recommended I join Vocal Point, MYAC’s Higher Level choir, composed of about 20-30 student singers.
I was both eager and excited as I was accepted to and joined Vocal Point as a Soprano. This was my first outside of school professional choir experience and we performed in several concerts each year and the choir’s level of musicianship pushes us singers to grow and develop.
VP has taught me ways to blend tones and learn to listen within and outside of our sections. In the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to sing solo parts in pieces such as “Alice in Wonderland” and “Children, Go Where I Send Thee,” as well as in MYAC’s holiday concerts with the Symphony Orchestra, performing works like “Hanukkah.” Through these experiences,
I’ve strengthened my confidence as both a soloist and ensemble musician.
