In MONTH of 2025 I participated in the Illinois Music Association Competition, performing “Mio caro bene” by Handel, and I won 1st place in the Opera Division. My teacher had encouraged me to enter, and although it was a smaller, more accessible competition, it proved to be a valuable experience. Performing in person allowed me to refine my stage presence, a skill that can’t be replicated in online settings. I believe each live performance opportunity helps me grow my confidence and makes me more accustomed to singing in a professional setting.
